Short description

FLUXACORD is indicated for uncomplicated and complicated infections caused by pathogens sensitive to ciprofloxacin.

Respiratory infections: Ciprofloxacin can be considered a recommended treatment for pneumonia caused by Klebsiella species, Enterobacter, Proteus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus species, Moraxella catarrhalis, Legionella, and Staphylococcus.

Otitis media and sinusitis, especially if they are caused by gram-negative germs, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa or Staphylococcus.

Eye infections

Kidney and urinary tract infections.

Genital infections, including adnexitis, gonorrhea, and prostatitis.

Infections of the abdominal cavity (for example, infections of the digestive tract or bile duct, peritonitis).

Skin and soft tissue infections.

Bone and joint infections.

Infections or imminent risk of infection (prophylaxis) of patients with a depressed immune system (for example, patients treated with immunosuppressants or patients with neutropenia). Selective intestinal decontamination of immunosuppressed patients.

Prophylaxis of invasive infections caused by Neisseria meningitidis.

The applicable official guidelines on the proper use of antibacterial agents should be observed.

Children: Ciprofloxacin can be given to children for the treatment of 2a. or 3rd. line, complicated urinary tract infections and pyelonephritis caused by Escherichia coli (age range examined in clinical studies: 1-17 years) as well as pulmonary exacerbations of cystic fibrosis associated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa (age range examined in studies clinical: 5-17 years). Treatment will only be started after a careful evaluation of the risks and benefits, given the possible secondary and adverse reactions related to the joints and / or surrounding tissues. Clinical studies have been conducted in children for the indications listed. Clinical experience with other indications is limited.

Inhalation (post-exposure) anthrax of adults and children: Reduce the incidence or progression of the disease after exposure to Bacillus anthracis aerosol.

The serum concentrations of ciprofloxacin, achieved in humans, serve as a surrogate marker, which reasonably predicts beneficial clinical effects and provides the basis for this indication.
